Hiya This is a bit long Soz,

I'm Sue ok so where to start Right so on Sunday the 9th of June I had a few sharp pains in my right boob, then later on I got some discharge from my nipple, so on Monday morning I booked an appoinSee no evilent with the doctor. I needed to study for my last maths GCSE exam the nxt day. So went to doc and she took a swab to get checked and put me on antibiotics for 10 days 500mg 4-times a day. I was goiSee no evil away on the wed for a wk to lanzarote with my friends from college now I couldn't drink PLUS ALL-INCLUSIVESee no evilSee no evilRofl

Had a great time thoughBeachSun with face .. Roll on last wk So what I thought was all better, back to normal boobage lol The right nipple was leaking and I could feel some lumps coming from the armpit into the boob. Me friend pop round and I got her to have a look didn't say what I'd felt though. She looked at both and noticed that the right nipple was darker than the left right around the areola too.  Then she had a feel and found the same lumps as I did.

Got to the doctors and filled her in and she examined me ect for about a min!!! felt from armpit  to the nipple then stopped and had tat face yea know the one.  She went to her desk I got dressed and when I sat down she said I'm going send you straight to a Breast Surgeon for a urgent  2week appointment.  They rang the nxt morning with an appointment for the 16th July not at my local hospital but over the other side of city as tat was the earliest app and they didn't want me to wait for one nearer my house. I have lost a lot of weight in the past 6-12mts around four sstone especial the last 2mnt.

As far I was aware it wasn't in the family. Asked my maternal aunty as my mam died when I was 11 not cancer,  she told me Two of our aunts died pre menopause about age forty or so other aunt got it early in life but survived till her late sixties all from breast cancer. II dont know what to do with meself at all me heads mashed up. I'm not telling my husband or kids till I know what's what.

ANY ADVICE PLEASE

  • Hi Sue  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am so sorry to see you having to find us and I am sorry to see you are having investigations for breast cancer.

We all know how hard this time is and can bring a lot of stress on you and the family but talking with people who are on the same journey can help a lot and will reduce the whirlwind wind that is rushing in your head.

As my cancer journey was rather different you may like to follow this link to our Breast cancer forum where you will connect with people who understand the journey you are on. You can ask the folks questions about treatments, what to expect and how to help get through this time.

Follow the link and join the group by hitting the ‘Join the Group’ tab just under the main group name. At this point select how you want to receive email notifications when someone answers your posts.

The best way to get support is to go to the 'Start a Discussion' tab just under the main group name. Set up your own Discussion and Introduce yourself to the group - you could just copy an paste what you have in this first post. Or you could hit the ‘Discussions’ tab and look through the various threads.

You may find our various Macmillan Support Line Services to be helpful - call them on 0808 808 00 00 This free service covers Emotional Support, Practical Information. Clinical Information, Financial Support and Work Guidance mostly open 8.00 to 8.00 but check the link.

We also have our ‘Ask an Expert’ section where you can post questions to our mostly Volunteer Experts but please allow 2 working days to get a reply.

Our Online Information and Support Section is a good place to find some great pages covering the cancer diagnosis, treatment and information pages covering most types of cancers.

Talking to people face to face can help a lot so check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support Groups in your area or a Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing.

When you feel up to it think about putting some information in your profile. This really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself.

To do this click on YOUR username, look to the left and select 'Edit Profile'. Put as much or as little in your profile and you can amend it at any time - you can see members profiles by hitting our forum names.

    All the best.
