Hi, following my CT scan last week I have been to the hospital today for the results. They are a mixed bag, nothing showing below the diaphragm but I have two tumours in the top of my lung which have spread to my neck. I have been told it is treatable but not curable so now waiting to see the Oncologist for the way forward, probably Chemo and depending on further tests on lymph node cells there could be other options as well. Just waiting again really.

I was convinced it had spread everywhere so I am taking that as a positive!!

I am still in fighting mode and have actually accepted it better than my family!!

Off to mow the lawn and a bit of gardening - does wonders for the soul.

Am a bit scared but one step at a time, no point looking too far ahead no-one knows really where my path will go. As the famous Philosopher Rene DeCartes said "Cogito Ergo Sum" (which means I think therefore I am) and I am here!!

Boxing gloves on!! Take care all xx

  • Hi

I'm glad to hear that after having a CT scan last week you've finally found out what you're dealing with.

It's great that you don't have the spread you were expecting but perfectly natural that you're still feeling scared.

From what you've said I'm presuming that your primary is lung cancer so could I suggest that you join the very friendly and knowledgeable people over in the lung cancer group where you can ask questions and get support.

We also have a living with incurable cancer group but you might not feel ready to join that yet.

To join both or either of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could update your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
