Hi.
I know to take every day at a time but I'm starting to get feelings of anger and frustration. Finding it hard to get my head in the right place just now
Hello Abrm,
As you know I am in the same situation as you, waiting for answers and that I think is what causes the frustration and anger but every day that passes is another day nearer to a solution, another day nearer to overcoming this.
I know its hard but try not to let your mind drift into a dark place, when you feel yourself sliding, give yourself a pat on the back and say "come on, you're here, you're fighting and you are not going to be beaten".
Believe me I have my odd moments but I push those thoughts to one side and bring myself back by perhaps walking in my garden, vacuuming the floor (yuk) or every day normal things, after all you are still you, don't think otherwise. I sometimes, very silly, look at myself in the mirror, smile and say to myself 'you know, you really are OK'. Positive is a word bandied around a lot but it means what it says on the label!!
Hope this help, take care and lots of hugs xx
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I am one of the Community Champions and I can only apologise that none of us spotted your first post in New to the Community yesterday. As volunteers it's our 'job' to welcome new people and point them in the direction of suitable groups to join or where to find information.
I can understand how hard it must be for you at the moment as your team don't yet know where your primary cancer is. Your feelings of anger and frustration are perfectly normal reactions. Most people say that they feel more in control once they know what the treatment plan is.
While you're waiting to find out where your primary cancer is can I suggest a couple of groups for you to join where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support. The first is the unknown primary cancer group and the other is the secondary lymph node cancer group.
To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.
When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Do come back and tell me when you know where your primary is and I can suggest an appropriate group for you to join.
