Hello everyone, i'm new to the group today after needing to speak to Macmillan. I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer this time last year - initially i was able to stay positive but after 3 failed different treatments and infection I'm getting increasingly anxious to the point that I am struggling to cope. Could I ask, how does everyone else deal with the uncertainty? I'm in a dark place and desperately need help to get out of it. Thank you

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. I didn't have this type of cancer but do completely understand how much of a challenge it can be to come to terms with a cancer diagnosis, especially when the treatment you've been given so far hasn't been successful.

Could I suggest that you join the secondary breast cancer group where you can share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post a question or introduce yourself after selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Sending a supportive (((hug)))
