My original post was with with regards to swollen lymph nodes giving 'cause for concern' after scan.  Yesterday, I had a blood test and a short time ago this evening the GP has phoned to say that my white blood cells are very low and I will be unable to fight off any infection at the moment.  I was trying to think positive since I was told about the 'cause for concern' and this site has been so good in helping me do that.  However, after the GPs call - I am sitting here in tears - especially when he said, again, the scan was 'cause for concern'.  I have an ENT appt first thing Monday morning with the hope they will do a biopsy.  The GP was hoping they would but could not say.  I cannot help but think the worst.  Thank you for listening - writing this is helping me to calm a little.

  • Hi and a second welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear how you're feeling after receiving a phone call from your GP today. I can see that my friend KTatHome has written a really helpful reply to your earlier post. If you're having trouble finding it clicking here will take you back to it.

I think you will find looking at the links she's provided really helpful in dealing with your emotions.

Don't forget you can always speak to someone on the Macmillan Support Line by calling 0808 808 0000. It's free to call, available daily from 8am to 8pm and you don't have to have been diagnosed with cancer to use this service.

Let us know how your appointment on Monday goes.
