I am hoping someone can advise me I finished all treatment last February I’ve had surgery chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I’m still feeling tired and pain in joints my family says I should be ok now is this usual ? Thanks.

  • Hi , the post treatment recovery can take time and often a lot longer than some people understand...... so your family looks like they don’t understand the challenges post treatment,

Have a look at this great paper as it highlights the milestones of the post treatment journey.

Thank you for your reply greatly appreciate. Partner and family are very good but I feel I’m fighting the challenge alone but McMillan can listen. Cancer is a life changing experience and I’ve met some lovely people during hospital visits. Some days I’m ok I’m here ! Some arnt so lucky I’m grateful I look at all things with much more understanding and appreciate all things. Some days I fear it will come back then I think I’m wasting time worrying. Thank you for reading this .

  • This part of the marathon takes time and perseverance. Check out opportunities to talk with people face to face as this can help a lot so check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support Groups in your area or a Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing.
