Hi all,

I am new to this but could do with some advise.....my mum was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in December after a long stint in hospital. While she was in hospital she managed to stop smoking and had been doing really well. However, recently she has suffered from memory loss and occasionally (but more and more) asks my step father for a cigarette. He is a very heavy smoker and and feels that she should just be able to smoke if she so wishes. My argument is that she’s had 2 bouts of pneumonia and is really not a well lady. He however, continues to smoke in front of her even though I have asked him not to! Thankfully he no longer smokes in the house. I have stared putting on her nicotine patches again, but he has told me that if she asks him for a cigarette he will give it to her. Can I have some advise please on how further to tackle this l.
