Hi all. I'm fairly newly diagnosed.. Was diagnosed around 5/3/19... I'm not totally sure if the news has really been fully absorbed yet and to be totally honest I'm not even sure if I'm in the right place right now. I'm pretty much facing this alone as I don't really have family or friends and live in a very small town. I guess this is my attempt to reach out a bit and find someone to talk to because going it alone hasn't been working out so well for me. If I'm not in the right place perhaps someone could point me in the direction of the right kind of support groups. Thanks in advance!
Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.
I'm sorry to hear that you're facing your cancer diagnosis on your own but you'll find plenty of people to share your experiences with and get support from here.
If you could tell me what type of cancer you have I can point you in the direction of a group to join.
When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
