Hi Wave tone1 I’m new here.

What brings me here is a diagnosis, that I was totally unprepared for.  Four weeks ago I was in hospital having had a hysterectomy.  Whilst there, I had a CT scan, I think Thought balloon for pulmonary embolism.  Next news they’re telling me they’ve seen something on my right kidney and a DR from the Urology Department will see me.  They came, whilst I’m still whoozy from the operNeutral faceion, and I couldn’t really take it all in, MDT meetings were mentioned, but it was all over my head.  Anyway fast forward four weeks and I met the Consultant who said he was 95% sure it was cancerNeutral faceand the option was to have it removed.  He said it had probably been there for about ten years!!  I went for an ultrasound scan in November last year and got told it was a kidney stone!!!  What thNeutral facehell???  So now I’m looking at more surgery.  I’ve just started to feel better , more like myself then wham!!!  Sorry Neutral face for the long post, but today I feel a bit down!!

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

You're certainly entitled to feeling down after having a kidney cancer diagnosis when you're recovering from having a hysterectomy.

I see that you've found the kidney cancer group and I'm sure if you post there you will meet plenty of people who can answer your questions and give you support.

If you're not sure how to get back there just click on the link I've created. To ask a question or introduce yourself select 'start a discussion' and you can also respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
