Hi , my daughter (21) had a polyp removed at colonoscopy which came back as cancerous , the doctor also told us that there was cancer in the blood vessels. What does this mean for her prognosis ? She is to have a colectomy in the coming weeks and may need chemo after depending on what’s found after surgery as regards blood vessels and lymph nodes . Her ct scan was clear which is great but I’m terrified that it being in the blood vessels means it could show up somewhere else in the future .
Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry that you've had to find us.
It must have been devastating news for both you and your daughter to discover that she has cancer.
I'm presuming that as you've said your daughter had a polyp removed during a colonoscopy that she has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. My apologies if I've got this wrong and please let me know which type of cancer she's been diagnosed with so I can find the appropriate group for you.
If it is bowel cancer then can I suggest that you join the bowel cancer group and post your question there as I'm sure the knowledgeable people in that group will b able to help you further.
To join the group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and ask questions by selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by clicking on 'reply'.
When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your daughter's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thankyou for the reply , I’m new to this soI’m not quite sure where to post or who to ask , Thankyou for the advice .my daughter has been diagnosed with bowel cancer and will be getting surgery and possibly further treatment . It’s been a terrible time fir our family as I’ve already lost my parents and brother to cancer ( not bowel cancer though )
You're welcome
Having a cancer diagnosis affects everyone in the family and not just the person with it and it must be very hard for you having already lost members of your family to cancer.
If you follow my link to the bowel cancer group you can just copy and paste your introduction from here into a new post there to save you typing it out again.
I think you'd also benefit from joining the family and friends group as it's a safe and supportive place to express your worries and get support from others who have family members with cancer. Again clicking on the link will take you to that group.
If you have any difficulties finding your way around just let me know and I'll help if I can.
Sending a supportive ((hug))

Look forward to seeing you over in the bowel group very soon where we can start to be of support to you.
You can ask us any questions you want at any time even if you think it could be silly if you're thinking it ask it one of the group will probably have the answer for you. My fellow group champion court is very knowledgeable on bowel cancer and will give you a tremendous amount of help and support.

Ian
