I am 3 cycles into chemotherapy. The first 2 although horrific i seemed to recover and get back to normal this 3rd one has been beyond awful. Its taken nearly 10 days to actually feel able to get out the house. Im normally fit and active running and loads of fitness classes i have done none. My mental health is really struggling with massive anxiety attacks. My dr prescribed a small dose of lorazepam which i try not to take unless i need sleep but it does work im just afraid of being dependent. Are there similar experiences and or groups i can go to. I think because im so exhausted and unable to get out my mind has too much time to be gloomy.
Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear you are suffering with the effects of chemo. We know it can have a build up effect and the fatigue can take its toll, not just on the body, but on the mind. When we are so tired it affects the way we think. You are not alone in this. If you can let us know what chemo you are on and what you are being treated for, then we can point you to a group where the members with experience of this will be able to help.
