Hey everyone I thought I’d give this a try.

I’ve always avoided talking about my cancer but since my treatment ended I feel like I could probably benefit from talking to people who can relate.

I was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma in 2017 at 27 years old.  I finished treatment in July and just thought it would be good to chat to people in a similar situation as mine. Maybe just to see if my feelings are normal or I’ve turned into a hypochondriac haha x

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am so sorry to see the circumstance that brought you here. But great that you have got through your treatment but indeed, for some folks, the post treatment journey can be as hard as the treatment its self.

Indeed, talking with people who are on the same journey will help you a lot. You could start having a look through our threads in our Life after Cancer Forum where you can connect with like minded folks.

Follow the link above and join the group. Have a look around or even hit the 'Start a Discussion' tab and introduce yourself to the group - you could just copy an paste what you put in this first post. Remember to go to the right on the group home page and select how you want to receive email notifications when someone answers your posts.

You may also find our various Macmillan Support Line Services on 0808 808 00 00 to be very helpful even if all you want to do is talk with friendly person that can help in lots of ways.

We also have our ‘Ask an Expert’ section but please allow a few days to get an reply.

Talking to people face to face can help a lot so check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support Groups in your area or a Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing.

If you haven't yet completed your profile when you have a minute could you pop something about your journey so far into it. This really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine profile by clicking on my username.

We also have our general Cancer experience groups.

And finally, make a cup of tea and have a look at this paper by Dr Peter Harvey - Life after Treatment as it may help you a lot.

    Always around to help out

    All the best.

Congratulations on finishing your treatment! You must be so relieved.

My fiancé is 31 and has Ewing’s in his pelvis and spine, he’s currently being treated with radiotherapy.

    How is life after treatment?

    Hi Jade and

Do either of you know about the group on this site diagnosed at a young age? What with being 55 it is not one I visit so I don't know how active it is, but maybe worth a look?

    All the best
