Hi all
i had a mole under my arm change a few months ago, I had it checked and then removed, it came back as MM and then had a body check, a tiny blackhead size one on my neck was removed and also one on my shoulder.
Turned out the one under my arm was stage 1 and the neck was also MM but insitu, so i was lucky. I was offered to have lymph node biopsy which I had 3 weeks ago along with both moles a wider excision.
Unfortunately they SLNB was bloody painful and I had a seroma come up that’s had to be drained 3 times so far, also I have some thing that feels like wires within my arm from the armpit to the elbow and it’s so painful to stretch out my arm.
Soni have a couple of questions... I think I was lucky having MM only shallow in my skin, but has anyone else had a MM that was 0.85mm ( stage 1), and had problems after with cancer coming back ?
Also has anyone else suffered these side effects with the large seroma and the taught wires down the arm ?

Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that one of the moles that you had biopsied turned out to be melanoma and that you've had problems after your SLNB.
I see that you've found the melanoma group so can I suggest that you copy and paste this introduction into a new post there.
I was diagnosed with melanoma about two and a half years ago but was fortunate that I didn't have any problems with my SLNB. My arm did feel strange for a long time after but I wouldn't describe it as taught wires.
Unfortunately, having had one melanoma does mean that you're more at risk than the rest of the population of having another no matter what stage you are. I presume that your team have given you all the information about how to stay safe in the sun to try and minimise further skin cancers.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I hope to see you over in the melanoma group
x
