My cancer was not aggressive and has been removed (i think) however the consultant come round when i had just come out of surgery and been given 4 lots of fentinal.. to talk to me and said they need to test it to see if i will have to have a full hystorectomy or not.... i believe he said it because he thinks it is and is trying to prepare me.. i may just be thinking the worst but i want more children and having that choice taken away from me breaks my heart. Obviously i will do what i have to to be fit and healthy for my lg. I guess im just after any one elses experience and any advice... thank you.

    Hi

Welcome to the community although I’m sorry to hear that you’re surgeon has thrown this curveball at you.

It sounds as though you have your sensible head on and that  you are balancing thinking the worst (only human) against knoeing that you may be thinking the worst. It’s all any of us can do. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I am not a doctor but I do know that after gynae cancer surgeons, samples of the tissue that has been removed are sent to the pathologists to check whether there’s been any microscopic spread. It may be that this is what your surgeon was talking about - but in a not very helpful way.

At any rate, it might be helpful to join the cervical cancer group here in the community. I hope there will be folks who know more over there and can share their experiences

You could also look into Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust  I think they have a community forum too but I’ve not used it

Good luck! I hope you don’t have to wait too long for an answer and that it’s gooc news. Let me know?
