Hi, I've just joined for a little support. Went for what I thought was a routine op 5 weeks ago to remove a lump from my anus and was told after it that they hadn't been able to remove it all as it was attached to my sphincter muscle and was probably Anal cancer.
Since then I have had CT, MRI, smear and PET scan. The phone consultation with surgeon has shown there is a 10mm cancerous lump.
I have my treatment meeting this Thursday. I'm just looking for any helpful words from anybody who has been/going through this.
Thankyou xx

Hi thecannon79,
I am being treated for anal cancer at this time. I have just begun my 4th week of radiation. Had chemo the first week and will again next week. My lump was 4cm. I was shocked to find that out since I thought my problem was just a simple hemorrhoid.
Try not to get too upset, although I know it's hard when you first find out. Listen to your doctors and try not to google for information (although I did and many times it would scare the heck out of me).
Once you know what your treatment plan will be and it begins you will feel better knowing you are on your way to having the cure.
Feel free to ask me anything and if I can help, would be glad to. I can only give you my experience as everyone is different.
Hi
Thankyou for replying. I hope all is going well with your treatment?
Yes I have googled a few times haha, thought joining here would be far better :)
I can't think of any questions at the moment although I'm sure I have hundreds stuck in my bed!
Good luck with your treatment, keep me posted how your getting on
