Hi i have just joined, i was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the end of summer last year. I have had six chemotherapy sessions an my cancer has started to shrink. My post is about my emotional health i am having to put up with constant noise in my home which will impact my health. Both sides of my neighbours are causing me problems with power tools, hammering and sawing. The one lady next door played piano music from 8.00 in the morning till nine at night for four day period. I actually broke down crying cause i could not take no more. I told her about my condition but now she still blasts her radio and the last six days i have listened to construction. My other side have been using some tool in the garden for years. I am trying to move out i have also applied to the housing as an extra resort to get out. I feel the noise will effect any chance of my health improving more.
Welcome to the online community and I'm sorry to hear of your problems.
Having trouble with inconsiderate neighbours is never easy at the best of times and when you are feeling low it impacts on your health.
As you've already applied to the housing department to be rehoused maybe a letter from your GP to them might jolt them along a bit. This is also a good time to contact your local councillor for help as it's election week.
In an ideal world the housing department would act on your complaint and write to your neighbours about the noise but unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world but hopefully you will be rehoused to a quieter area.
I would like to invite you to join a group suitable to your cancer group but unfortunately as you've not mentioned this I can't be specific but I can point you to our Emotional support forum group where the members might be of help to you as they are very friendly.
You are always very welcome to revisit us here for chat, to rant and rave or just let off steam there's always someone about to listen to you but your best pathway is to join a group specific to your cancer and if you let me know I'll send you a link to the best group for you.
