Hello all - i was diagnosed with mucinous carcinoma of ovary ( ovarian cancer) back in January 2019. I was scheduled for major radical and extensive surgery on 25th Feb 2019. UNfortunately on 12th feb i suffered a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest. I am lucky to be alive having spent some days on life support and ITU. I am here to tell the tale still. Obviously my surgery was cancelled and i recently underwent further ct scans to check on my surgical eligibility given the time delay and the obvious growth of my tumor. CT confirms signifigant growth of mass but it is still contained and there is no evidence at all of any spread and my chest is till clear. This is all great news - i am now very frustrated to discover that because of my heart attack i cannot have my surgery at my gynae oncology centre as i need an ITU bed, so i need my surgery at another hospital and there is no available theatre slot until mid june. I am genuinely worried that this further 8 week delay ontop of the time delay already may be pushing my luck. I am very positive ( well detached if im honest) and i want my op as soon as i can , i dont think i can wait another 8 weeks and i dont think my tummy can accomadate another 8 wks of growth - my mass is now 28cmx19cmx17cm weighing approx 6.8kg - apols i dont think anyone can say anything to help i am just venting x
