Hi everyone, my 81 year old previously fit and well Dad was diagnosed almost 3 weeks ago. Terrible shock for us all. Has just had a week in hospital due to severe dehydration and jaundice. Had a biliary stent fitted which only worked partially at first but seems ok for now. He has been told it’s inoperable but until the jaundice has gone he won’t be able to have treatment. We know it has metastasised to his liver and the primary may be in his bile duct. The lesions on his liver are increasing in size already, he is weak, fatigued and uncomfortable but not in great pain. Next MDT meeting not for another week, does anyone think he will be offered chemo? In the meantime the disease is progressing.
thankyou
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear about your dad's diagnosis. It must have been a great shock to you all when he's previously been so fit and well.
I see that you have found the pancreatic cancer group and I think that if you copy and paste your introduction from here into a new post there you should find some people who can give you support. Clicking on the link I've provided will take you there and to start a new post just click on 'start a discussion'.
You may also like to join the family and friends group where you can share your worries and get support from others who have a family member with cancer so understand what your're going through.
If you'd like to join that group as well, again clicking on the link will take you there.
