Frustrating waiting!

Hi everyone, im new to group So just waited to start by asking how long should PET scan and then results be known? After Bile duct cancer diagnosed from biopsy and blockage over a month ago!! Last Tuesdays PET scan was cancelled on the day!!! and now have to wait till next Monday. Thanks Jo

I bet that feels like a long wait. And yes, how very frustrating to have a scan cancelled on the day. I know from experience how difficult the period between the shock of diagnosis and starting treatment can be. I feel for you.

In my experience, it took a couple of weeks to get results from the first scan. A radiologist needs to read and report on it and then on a multidisciplinary team meeting needs to discuss the results and come up with a treatment plan. Then they need to schedule in the appointment with the patient. But that was in gynae cancer.

Why don’t you join the bile duct cancer group? The folks over there might have a different picture.
