Looking for advice on this diagnosis .We have been told that palliative care is the option available.
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that your dad has recently been diagnosed with duodenum adenocarcinoma and that palliative care is his only option. Both you and your dad must be finding this very hard to come to terms with.
I've found this information for you about duodenum adenocarcinoma and it's treatment.
Could I suggest a couple of groups for you to join where you can ask questions and get support. The first is the small bowel cancer group, where you can ask questions about this type of cancer, and the second is the supporting someone with incurable cancer group where you can discuss your emotions as well as practical issues.
To join these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that opens. You can then post questions by selecting 'start a discussion' and respond to existing posts by choosing 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your dad's journey into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
