Hi All

I’m new to the group and was hoping to tick off my bucket list by visiting abroad, but since I’ve been given an SR1 (less than 12months) nobody seems to want to give me travel insurance-I’m 57 and in good health except for the cancers which aren’t impacting my ability to or travel (currently on holiday in a cottage near Bakewell.

any advice?

  • They seem to be mentioned a lot will, definitely contact them

    Thanks

  • Hi Les, Yes we did go to Benidorm. It turned out that if you go for 3 weeks instead of four then companies will give you insurance. At that time we got it from MIA travel Insurance for £375 because all they asked for was confirmation my Oncologist had no objection to me going! We have been going to Benidorm in Jan/Feb for over 25 years. For most of them we went for 4 weeks but after dx we dropped to 3 weeks so we could get insurance. We missed it this year because my husband was having chemo in Feb but we transferred it to next year in May! Tui have been terrific!

  • Should say sorted lol

  • Hi JVJ So have you managed to book something and if so, who with please! I think we might have a problem in future as, not only myself but now my husband was dx with bowel cancer 2023, bladder cancer 2024, for which he had chemo at the beginning of this year.  We are waiting for results of scans to find out if chemo has worked. However now he has been diagnosed with angina and the meds for it didn’t work, next step an angiogram. That is what we will have to add next time we apply for travel insurance, so fingers crossed!
Until 2023 he hardly ever even had a cold!!
