Hi Stu sturit69, welcome to the group. Sad that we have to meet here for the first time, I'd much rather it was elsewhere.

12 to 14 months is so worrying and shocking for you but perhaps I can make it a little less of a shock by telling you that there are so many people here who have been given a prognosis and are outliving that, some by many years. We say that they are outliving their sell by date! 

I hope you'll make many friends here, I have and they're so supportive.

Hi Stu. It's devastating to learn there's no treatment available. I've had 6 sessions of palliative chemo which seemed to have done the trick but less than 5 months after I've completed it I've problems returning so my prognosis is uncertain. Less than 2 years ago I had no idea anything was going wrong within my body.

Despite all this I've met a lovely group of supportive people here who share a quirky sense of humour and chase the dark days away. Yes they come back when I think I've got to get things sorted out in a timeline less than I'd like but we can't go on forever.

Hi sturit69 so sorry to hear your prognosis, it totally rocks your world, upset angry, just let it out its natural.  As tvman said alot have gone over our sell by date, I'm one of them. These times the doctors give are only estimates they are not gods they're only human like us. Keep posting and take care xx

I'm sorry to hear your news, especially as they've advised no treatment. That's very difficult to hear and take on board. Give yourself time to take it all in and accept all the help you're offered.

So sorry you have had to join this site, but as you will see, you are not alone. always some one here to help you, in what ever way you may wish.

We have all been where you are and know, exactly , what  emotions, can and will crop up,

Sadness, Anger,  Disbelieve , all part of this journey, as i call it, on a road, none of us ever wanted to be on.

You will get a lot of support as i have done over the years, I am past my sell by date,positive attitude  helps  me,through, some times can be hard, and i have a wobble, but always some one here to pick me up, which i am grateful for.

Would not have got this far, if it had not been from the support i got and get here.

I was meant to be dead five years ago, just come back from the pub so prognosis not quite accurate!

Ellie has replied to you saying how it is. We all got through it, so will you.

Of course it's a shock, but that will pass.

Hi Sturit69 welcome to our special group of people who will support you whenever you need us as Tv man says there is a lot of people in our group who are outliving  there sell by date and were told only months to live or less just take one day at a time xx

Hello Stu, Just wanted to welcome you and like many others here wanted to say that the prognosis we are often handed, all too often turns out to be a best guess and far from accurate. Please don't give up on yourself or think it's going to happen. Treatments are coming onstream all the time. Keep coming on here and letting off steam or asking advice anytime you want. We all pitch in to support each other. Get your affairs in order to give yourself peace of mind, then put them in a box and forget about it. Make plans, have treats, make good memories.
