Radiotherapy finished

I think the main piece of light is the radiotherapy is done and you won’t have to face the mask again, nor the travel and disruption involved over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully things will settle down a bit over the coming days. All the best with your oncologist tomorrow. 

Thanks Coddfish, yes I'm glad the RT is over...just hope it doesn't take weeks for the lump to reduce...they have told me can be 6-8 weeks. Also I think if I know the pain in side isn't ongoing and I had my mobility back I could manage so much better. I hope u r well x

Hi Sarah, I'm so glad your mask and radiotherapy sessions are over and hopefully in time (it's not going to happen overnight), the lump on your neck will reduce. Were you told whether or not they expect, from previous patients, that the success rate is high? 

I'm so sorry you're having severe bowel issues, I really feel for you in that respect. Mrs Tvman is going through exactly the same bowel problems. There are days when she sits on the toilet for ages with constipation and others when she has severe diarrhea and is afraid to stray too far from the toilet. It's awful for you, I understand. Mrs Tvman has been told that this is "normal" and it might last for a year or so. Her advice is to eat little and often, not to have a big meal every day. Has your oncologist said similar to you? 

We have been told that there should be light..., until then life is certainly not a bed of roses but Sarah, hang on in there and hope. 

Have you seen your oncologist yet today or is it this afternoon? Try to get answers from him/her.

Hi Tvman, sorry to hear Mrs Tvman is suffering too. I saw my oncologist late this afternoon. They wanted to talk about chemo/ immunotherapy but decided I wasn't in a fit state to. I am having CT scan Thursday to try to solve the pain problem. Nurse thinks I could be impacted...which I hope that is it cos then I can just take a mega dose lax and be pain free.  It's all very confusing. I think they need me to be in a better place mentally B4 chemo as that can bring it's own horrors. I feel my neck is shrinking and I have less pain there, although I have lost sense of taste. Everything Tastes yuk...even water is weird.

All I can advise you to do is to try to be in a better place mentally. Have you thought about counselling yet? I had it and I'd say it was helpful.
