I read many horror stories and perhaps we only put negatives on social media, but it can cloud and scare us as we follow our life’s journey.

Hence I was very worried when I decided to have palliative chemotherapy for local advanced pancreatic cancer.

After all following a stent to the bile duct and the prescription for pancreatic enzyme I felt great.

I have just completed my fourth session.

It has gone well so far, weight steady , we walk about 5 miles each day and get out to meet friends and family each day. The evening nightly stroll to the pub means I am drinking more but a 6 months median longevity the walk and talk do more good than harm.

I was/ am fit for my age had a good diet perhaps these have helped.

For those following this chosen path I hope the chemo works for you and try and avoid fear scrolling

  • I definitely think doing what you like and enjoy is a good idea. So many people seem to want to try to improve diet / stop drinking etc and just end up making themselves miserable. I hope your treatment remains tolerable and gives you a good block of time when you are well.
