Hi Xaviva
I'm sorry I missed this post. I hope you are having a better day today. We, as a group are all here for you and I'm sure every one of us has had days like you've had. When the weight of it all gets us down or the pain/symptoms get too much. Is there someone at home that you can talk to about how you're feeling. If not, the staff on the Macmillan helpline are excellent, this is the link to contact https://www.macmillan.org.uk/about-us/contact-us
Have you thought about counselling? It can really help to talk to someone that is not emotionally involved. I had 2 short courses and it has helped me to look for the good in my life and to plan things that I like to do for my good days. Macmillan offer counselling, this is a link to more information https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/get-help/emotional-help/bupa-counselling-and-emotional-well-being-support
Macmillan also offer a course that helps us live for the present moment. I've recently done it and it has very good advice. This is the link for information Online HOPE (Help Overcome Problems Effectively) course
I hope you are able to consider these suggestions. If there is anything else I can help with, let me know.
A x
Hi Xaviva
Sorry you are struggling, , would really help, if you did a profile, or give us a bit more information, so others, really know how you are filling and how we might, be able to support you.
As sister moon has said, do you have some one to unload on, or are you on your own.
Everyone here is incurable, and some one is always here for you.
Though not information to reply to.
Pleqase use the site some one will always answer you.
Hi Xaviva, We do know what you are going through! This is not the life we expected to be living! It takes a long time to get to grips with everything and it is difficult not to think on 'what would have been' but it doesn't help! This is a roller coaster but honestly things will slow down and you will feel a bit better. As Sistermoon and Ellie have said, there is always someone here to talk to, so please join in. If you click on anyone's username, you will be able to read their story and it will maybe help you to know what to write on yours.
Now you have joined this Group, you will always have someone to talk to who really knows how you feel! I hope tomorrow is a better day!

Hi Xaviva
Pleased forgive me if I am advising you things you've already done. My understanding of it is that you register your details then book a wellbeing assessment. The Bupa team will ring you to do the assessment, which can take up to 50 mins. After that you could be offered 4 sessions or a 1 off session or signposting.
I've provided a link at the top of the page for the assessment. If you have already had the call from Bupa and you think you've been lost in the system could I ask that you ring the helpline to enquire, they will help you chase it up. This is the link for contact https://www.macmillan.org.uk/about-us/contact-us
If you feel you need more than Bupa may provide, please ask you specialist nurse to refer you to local counselling funded by Macmillan.
Please let me know if I can help further.

thank you. I had the assessment a month ago and they were to call me back with dates which never happened. will follow it up tomorrow.. they gave me the number.
Yes, I would call them back asap, don't let it go until you have your appointment date! You will soon find out here we have to be proactive or we get nowhere! Please keep us informed!

so about the counselling, I have fallen on my face.! month ago I had the assessment with PUBA the assessor told me on the phone that she was going to try and arrange 6 session for me. I kept waiting weeks. So I phoned and was told that BUPA has sent me back to Macmillan and I cant have counselling, no reason given. advice is to go to my GP and arrange counselling through them..
Xaviva, I don't think you have fallen at all, how do you know if one counsellor is better than another! Also as long as you let your GP how long you have been waiting, I hope he/she will get the ball rolling quickly for you.
Have you already contacted your GP?
Love Annette x
Xaviva Sometimes we do fall through the cracks , We all have the same choice either to complain about it or do something about it and get it sorted asap with the right help. Its sound like you have been going around the houses being dealt with , You are with friends here and we are all in the same boat going through this experience , Life is great in general and we have to be great full for what we got . All the best minmax
