Hi everyone I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping in touch with you all as much. I’ve been struggling to be honest. Anyway, I’ve tried to read everyone’s posts to get up to date with what is going on with you all. I received the phone call I’ve been hoping for and dreading in equal measure. I’m going to have surgery Monday 30th October. I’m advised not to go to work, just to avoid getting a cold or covid. I was due in 3 days this week, and could use the distraction. I’m not being ungrateful, as I know some of you would love the option of surgery. I’m freaking out at the thought of having another surgery which may not work. The hospital is at least two hours drive away and there are roadworks to make matters worse! I had a bad experience last time, and don’t know if my surgery will be laparoscopic or open. If any of you have the time to offer some words of advice or comfort, I’d really appreciate it.
Hi all another quick-ish update! I believe the surgery went well and the surgeon did it laparoscopically. Had a bit of bother with the drain site, which led to the 111 system sending out an emergency doctor! A bit embarrassing really as by the time he came I was fast asleep on the sofa. They hadn’t said they were sending him! He looked exhausted being early Saturday morning poor man. He was very thorough and reassured me. I have permission to sit and do very little which is proving quite tiring. I won’t know any more details until my follow up call which should be 4-6 weeks. I hope you’re all looking after yourselves. Catch up with you soon.
