Hi EVERYONE, Well, we had to get an earlier flight home because I was feeling terrible about theSaturday night of our second week! I stayed in bed Sunday but bey Monday, I just wanted to go home! We tried to get a flight for the Monday but the first direct flight from Alicante to Glasgow was Thursday!
We got home about 7ish from the airport and at 8pm, I was on phone to NHS24. After holding on for 50 mins I got through to a person enjoying asked loads of questions. After about an hour or more, they said someone from Out of Hours Service would call. Another hour went by, OOH phoned back saying to go to A&E. I felt as if I had just wasted two and a half hours.
Our son took me and when we walked in, it looked like someone had advertised they were giving away £50 notes! Busy or what!
Got there just before 11pm, finally saw doctor at ;07.30. The triage nurse got files mixed up seemingly! Got to ward 20.15. Had supper in hospital
Friday, Saturday Sunday they were trying to get pain under control. My left leg was so swollen I couldn't get anything to put on my feet, they were so swollen. From my hip to my toes were swollen, red, burning, extremely paianful. There were 4 in the ward The patients and staff were terrific!
Sunday night transferred to different ward!, in the older part of the hospital, it is a madhouse!! Very noisy ward, phones constantly ringing buzzers constantly buzzing at night people shouting, nurses shouting down the length of the ward which is very large but separated into smaller groups but the centre goes from one end to other! I have to get an ultrasound (I hope today) looking for DVT. If that show's nothing they will do a full body scan, either MRI or PET scan of whole body to check for cancer! I don't know when that will be though. Just have to wait and see. No point in worrying! I don't do what ifs!! Will keep in touch! Love to all!
Hi Pet and everyone, sorry I hadn't managed an update sooner. To my email friends, I apologise for not keeping in touch as usual but although I can read the emails, I can't seem to be able to reply to them. Up until yesterday I thought I was replying and everything was fine but then I discovered they had all been put in Drafts and not the Sent folder!! It said something about configurations in settings, but I don't know how to do this and my son can't do it for me when he's not allowed to visit
i finished the course of antibiotics yesterday but the Cellulitis is getting worse and has spread to my other leg.
Everything in the hospital has been put on hold because of Covid because everything needs to be deep cleaned! Up until Friday, I was the only one in the ward who didn't have Covid. Then I tested positive. I suppose it was inevitable with 15 others all around having it. One piece of good news is that yesterday Vince was NEGATIVE!
The Consultant is due tomorrow, so I will let you know the plan of action. I have my questions ready!
This is the longest time since we got married in 1971 that we have been apart!
Well here comes a lovely nurse with a cup of tea for me. There are some really some kind people left in the world!
Love Annette x
Annette you continue to be in such good spirits, despite everything! A lesson to us all! It’s so true that the kind people make all the difference, having a kind nurse to bring you a cuppa must make it a little bit easier. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve contacted Covid after managing to avoid it, here’s hoping that your not too I’ll with it on top of everything else.
wishing you a speedy recovery from here on!
More hugs and love
Jac x
Oh Annette I am so sorry to hear you are having such a rotten time! We’re they able to give you the anti virals for the covid ? X
Hi ALL yes I did get access to the anti viral drugs for Covid. To be honest,I'm not sure what they are meant to do once you have Covid but I e been taking them anyway!
Well I got the whole body scan earlier today and had a full blood work done too. I'm hoping they may have the results tomorrow. When I get them, I will let you know!
Thanks again everyone for your overwhelming support, as you know there are no visitors allowed so it is a long day and reading your supportive messages helps me a lot,
Love Annette x
I'm sooooo glad you're okay..the anti viral makes your covid getting not so bad. So it's a good thing you got it. Also glad you had the scan and all done. So now we will wait together for the results. Big hug Pet
PS my email is playing up to, so will try again tomorrow to send you the pictures :)
