Hi I have extensive bone mets - iliac, sacrum, femur and hip joint. Although back and walking have been bothering for some time, the last day or two it's been really severe. I'm wonder if it's something like a stress fracture. But I can still walk so maybe not. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced something similar and what it diagnosed as and treatment,

I have a CT scan on Tuesday. I have an orthopaedist appt at the end of January - just don't think I can cope that long even with morphine.

  • Hi, sorry to hear that you're in so much pain, do you have a liaison nurse to contact? I  have a contact  to call who always replies within a couple of days, and another number for more urgent issues. Sorry I can't offer any more personal experience though.

Best wishes for getting the pain under control.

  • Hi. I have mets in the same areas as you pretty much, sometimes the pain can be so bad it feels like my pelvis is going to snap! My GP gave me slow release tramadol and amitriptyline I also have liquid morphine for break through pain, He suggested I take regular pain relief to control the pain rather than just take it when it hurts.

Happy new year to you. Heart

  • Hi Lila, yes I agree. I to have bone mets and was in agony crying with pain until the doctor and pain management team in McMillan got together, had a discussion and I am now on paracetamol, zomorph, and gaberpentin three times a day plus oramorph when needed, my pain is now under control and I am able to function far better. Definitely better taking regular, as it keeps the pain at bay.
