Hi, has everyone on here received a written diagnosis. I was diagnosed a year ago but havnt received one. Just wondering if it is normal not to have one. Many thanks for reading.
regards

Rose,
When my various doctors write to each other, there is a table of progress they maintain in the letter, which forms a sort of written diagnosis and timeline. I always carry the latest one of these in my folder.
I've never had a written diagnosis directly for me though, no.
Much love,
Stuart x
No Rose, nothing written as such to me- only on the phone or face-to-face. My oncologist sometimes writes with scan results as the delay from the verbal assessment to getting the actual report gets longer by the day, so he does it to confirm in writing to reassure. I can access correspondence from my surgeons to my GP via Systemonline, but I can only download the GP ones as they're in Word, but I can't even copy and paste the others as the system won't allow it - irritating, but at least I can read what they say to each other and make notes. Take care, Rainie x
not really had a written diagnosis or a copy of the scan results, I'm sure if I asked they would provide a copy of the scan results but to be honest I'm not that bothered, If they say i'm stable I'll take that and then ignore it until my next scan lol
Richard
be safe, be nice, be you
My letters from my consultant all give my initial inoperable diagnosis and when I started palliative treatment, I often have to chase up the copies, even though it states in my notes that I want to be copied in to all correspondence. I only really get scan and hospital blood results verbally. When they realused I was inoperable I asked the surgeon for copies of all my scans, but the best he could do was to let me photograph his computer screen!

Thanks for all your replies. I was wondering as have heard that a few people have had these but I’ve had nothing at all. Mind you, because of covid I’ve only been to the local cancer hospital where my oncologist is based once since September 20 , everything else has been done via telephone. Have my first face to face meeting 20th December.

Do you need it for something, for some paperwork? Or just your own satisfaction? I am in a hospital where I can access my online medical record, and it has my diagnosis/es.
Patricia
Thanks Patricia, I was just curious as some people have it and others don’t. I know if I needed written confirmation my oncologist would do that.
