My apologies for my recent absence from our little community – there are two reasons.

Firstly, I was quite deeply offended at the recent unnecessarily heavy-handed manner in which the powers that be dealt with our “offensive” behaviour – I think they maybe should recognise the specific circumstances that bring us together in this place and cut us a little slack…

Secondly, whilst all of that palava was unfolding, I was also going thru the Scanxiety nightmare of my 9 month test & scans and whilst the CT Thorax/Abdo/Pelvis report was Stable Mable, the CT Brain reported 3 mets which, as many of you know, in late-stage SCLC usually signifies the beginning of the end…

And so it probably is but my Oncs are not letting me go without a proper “tear-up” as the proposed new treatment is RT Brain (planning session next Weds at CUH), followed by a second go on the original chemo of Carboplatin/Etopside (which apparently is effective at crossing the brain/body threshold) and continuing with the Atezolizumab. He even said that there are “other” possible treatments after that…

It is quite interesting in that SCLC is usually not treated with Atezo and coupled with the incredible response since diagnosis, my onc said that all normal bets are off because this is new territory, even for them… We’ll see…

Much Love & Huge Hugs

Stay Strong

They did the Th/Ab/Pe first, defo with the contrast and although I didn't feel the warm fuzzy feeling just before they did the brain straight after, maybe there was already enough contrast rushing around...

Wetting yourself info not really in my remit, you may wish to discuss with the Norbmeister... He knows all about it!!! Hahaha!!! (ooh - that'll get him going ((so to speak)).

I was a bit "out there" after the CT but I think it's more to do with the RT sides... The last few days have been decidedly odd!

    Well... That's it then...

    POPCORN it is!!! Hahahaha

Question is - Salty or Sweet? I think you'll have to be sweet as the other one is DEFO salty!!!! & please, please, PLEASE - Don't bring butter into it... He'll get all over-excited and that'll bring the powers that be down on him... Just sayin'

  • I hope that your results are good and the 'out there' effects of the RT settle. You're certainly sounding good x

    Best wishes

Thx Sal - Onc on leave so probably a bit of a wait in store...

S'okay tho' because it is what it is...

  • I don't mind the wetting myself, once I have the man's nappy in place I look pretty good, know what I mean!?

I could do without The Sweet Popcorn knowing about all my personal foibles, we were just building up an understanding and this release of new bio on me may well result in an anticipated invite being withdrawn.

The ' out there ' is just you, don't slither around looking for sympathy from naive chums on here, I've got too much on you, and if I haven't,  I will fabricate some. Just sayin..... and I'm not well you know.

Well then... that's all done! Rest & recuperation for the next 3 weeks... Just the matter of the scan results... Can't be bothered with scanxiety - it is whatever it is!!!

Anyway - treated my dear old Mum to a Clotted CreamTea (although, to be fair, I had most!!! Hahaha) then went to bed. I think I'll stay there until it gets warmer or 'til we can go abroad...

Last bits of TheBastard arrived today - look out for piccies in the not too distant future...

    Hahaha Love Popcorn   xx

  • You relax, you really need to let you poor old/young body and mind have a break. La Norbette will have the scanxiety on your behalf, she keeps asking how you are, never mind me!

Glad you could celebrate with your Mum, best not let her have two many sugary things, it is for her own good as I am sure you pointed out. What a caring son you are.

Looking forward to the bastatd bike as I am sure we all are.

    Well done.

  • You have a rest clotted cream tea hey who knew ha ha ha looking forward to the piccies just wondering what could go wrong fitting that together hahaha loads of hugs and love xxxxxxxxxxxxx
