Hi everyone

Here's your new chat thread for April.

We're happy to start this for you, but anyone is welcome to start the thread if you get to it before we do Slight smile

  • Hi everybody. Just joined.  Struggling with a very short prognosis and wondering how people do it.  I’m already almost five months on and still feeling well which is a real kicker.

  • Hi

I  am sorry to hear your biopsy confirmed lung mets. I assume the interventional radiologist will ablate it/them? I have had this procedure a couple of times - on my liver rather than lungs. It’s a lot less invasive than surgery and has a quicker recovery time. Wishing you all the best.

  • Thank you for the update. How are you doing? How is the weather up your way? X

  • Hi Stacy

Did you manage have the wound vac off? Are you allowed to have a little chocolate for Easter? I had diabetes on TPN and they were pricking my finger every hour for 2 weeks. Disappointed They had given me a whole kits to continue monitoring my blood sugar level at home but I have not done any. I just don’t want to do it anymore.

I totally understand when you said you rather forget the whole hospital thing. I think I still suffer some degree of PTSD from all the surgeries and hospital stay. I can’t remember whether I had NG tube this time but I clearly had it. I think the brain is selectively forgetting certain things.

I heard there is another storm front coming, does it affect your place? US is such a big country with a lot of weather!

    Love x

  • Thank you, the result is as expected so I am not that bothered. I think they wanted the biopsy mainly to analyse the cancer cell genetics so if / when I need chemo again they can make that decision accordingly. My cancers cell genetics have been rather odd before and there is a split in opinions between Cambridge, Royal Marsden, and UCLH on what treatment is best for me. So this could be another saga developing.

Thank you for letting me know re ablation. Hopefully I will get it done soonish x

  • Hi Flobble

Welcome to the group! I am sorry about your prognosis.

I find have an incurable diagnosis is quite liberating. It frees me from worrying about the future as I don’t have any. Or thinking the worst when the worst already happened. I can concentrate live in the present. I am glad you are feeling well because if you break it down moment by moment , most time we are just fine. I am not saying it is all going to be all plain sailing but we will ride with the storm as it comes along. There is no need to jump right to the end yet.

People all really supportive and lovely here. So just pop in and say hi. What is your plan for the Easter?

    Stella x

  • Aw hello Stella and everyone

I’m here , just in the background, I’m doing ok thanks keeping busy, exercising as much as I can. Hoping to travel a bit more this year but let’s see . A few days  in Seville is planned for next weekend so here’s hoping we can get there , after that who knows ! The world is a crazy place right now . I don’t mind , I’m very happy at home too , especially when the sun ‘s out , a few friends or family are round - there’s nowhere better

I love Spring - always feels a hopeful time of year

    Love to all

    Lucy xx
