As ever, in memory of Ellie. Everyone is welcome to chit chat, share experiences or recipes, whatever you need

  • Good morning.  Glad to hear that your wound is healing Stella, slow but steady.  Has anyone heard from Stacy?  I do think of her.  So glad you are in the Stable Mabel club Chelle.  I only go to oncologist on 18 for scan results.  When do you go Patrick?  Hope you enjoyed your meal and grandsons birthday Angie. The sun is shining here for now, fingers crossed it keeps up.  I attended the three day secondary breast cancer seminar and it was really interesting especially the genetic testing and liquid biopsy bits.  I have arranged a consult with Make 2nds Count for a talk about clinical trials.  You give them all the information and they look at any suitable trials for you to take to your oncologist.  Also having a seminar with the Moonshot Project for lobular cancer.  I am trying to find out as much as I can because if you hadn't of done your research Stella, you might not have found your surgeon.  Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Good morning Lee 2. Yes we enjoyed his Birthday dinner very much, it was much fun. The cake was very yummy too. He did have a pool Party either his friends on Saturday do his dad would be able to bGrinningthere too. He works offshore and sadly had to leave on Monday, which was his Birthday. My DiL has her Birthday next Monday and my friend has hers on Tuesday next week. March is always a bit heavy on the purse. How are you getting on? Isn’t it lovely to see a bit of sunshine again? I was thinking about Stacy too. Hopefully we will get an update soon. What a courageous girl she is, just like our Stella. Hope Patrick and TVman are keeping fine. Hoping to meet up with Eddie toward the end of the month again, before he goes on his postponed cruise from last autumn. A good day to you all and a big hug from

  • Great news Chelle. I have my next scan on Monday so fingers crossed for that. Heading over to my daughter later this afternoon for dinner and some fun with the 3 boys. Grand don’t have to cook ThumbsupThumbsup. Enjoy your walks with Alfie, especially since the weather is much more benign. Love

  • Hi

Lee 2 your seminar sounds very informative and is great you have signed up about clinical trials.Wish bowel cancer patients have such events. I found American cancer patients website can be very useful as they are a lot more aggressive on treating cancer and going for curative treatment. They are a lot more optimistic and would fly for thousands of miles to get the best treatment outcome.

Angie you are very popular and having a very busy Month! Say hello to Eddie for me.

Chelle Glad your scan is good and stable again.

Patrick congratulations on your scan result too.

    Thinking of Stacy too.

I am doing well, just have to keep going to the GPs. Getting my CT scan result tomorrow and hope for no new lesions and no more chemo!

  • Hi

Thank you for all the well wishes Slight smile

Had my call with the colorectal consultant. It is pretty much all good news!

No new spots, just the two lung nodules increased slightly about 3 mm. No need for chemo right now.

    The dilemma / options are

1 do nothing and rescan in 2 months. But if more Mets pop up the surgery will be off the table and have to have chemo.

    2 Ablation

    3 Robotic surgery.

It is quite confusing when there are choices to be made. I decided to see the thoracic surgeon and maybe can find out more.

My heart says have a rest for 2 months but my head says have ablation just in case as there is always some arbitrary number when comes to cancer treatment. Like you can have SBRT for 3 lung nodules under NHS, but privately is 5?! So 2 less is useful in case of additional nodules popping up.

I suppose it is nice to have options.

    Have a good weekend x
