Just saying hi for now. I'm 43 and have incurable ovarian cancer. This time last year, it was a 'benign cyst' so had full hysterectomy etc. Biopsy results showed some cancer so adjuncant chemo recommended 'just in case'. By end sept was blindsided to find it had spread several places and no longer curable. Its been a tough few months and so far no treatment is shrinking or slowing it down. Next scan in 3 weeks but given the tumour marker results and some new pains, I can only imagine the plan b palliative chemo hasn't done anything.
I'm luckily still mobile and active, but obviously terrified and sad about the future. Want to travel and do things as much as I can, so after the scan hopefully will get to go on some little trips. And who knows what plan c is, if there is one. Hope is hard to come by after every set back.
Anyway a bit depressing intro but hello and hope everyone is doing ok as much as can be.
Naomi
Hi Naomi and a warm welcome to our little group from me. You will hopefully find it a helpful and supportive place to be for advice, coping with everyday problems or just getting stuff off your chest. I'm sorry to read that your treatment has not been successful so far but there will no doubt be plenty of treatment options available to you down the road. I wish you luck with your journey. In the meantime, fingers crossed for the scan results and have fun planning and going on your little trips.

Hi Naomi, I am sorry that you had to join this incurable group, but what a friendly group. Are they going to change your treatment or medication? I would really encourage you to do as much travelling and trips as you can. My husband and I just got back from Iceland, it was amazing. I was a bit worried as I have extensive mets in my spine and at risk of it snapping if I have a fall. Just took it easy and it was fine. I really hope that you find this forum as supportive as I do.
