Morning all,
I am becoming more and more depressed. I am already on tablets for anxiety and depression but the issue is I have a tremendous amount of phlegm and mucus building up in my lung/chest and struggling to breathe unless sat still.
I have always been very active playing golf 3 to 4 times a week and gardening but lately I just cannot do it and feel so down.
At my chemo unit I mentioned my problems to a nurse who got the doctor and after an examination and CT scan it was found I had a virus in my left lung and put on antibiotics.
Mentally coping at the minute is a nightmare
Hugs to all ️
Hi Joroni
I am sorry to hear you are feeling down. It is not surprising given you are physically unwelL and not able to participate in activities you are usually able to enjoy. Our physical health definitely influences our mental health.
Do you have a maggie centre near you? Do you have any therapy sessions? They are not going to change your physical situation but can offer you different ways of coping.
My psychologist used to say to me: stop focus on things you can’t do. Instead looking at something/ somewhere else. Is there anything else you enjoy doing ? Could you work on indoor plants?
Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and you will feel better soon.
Take care
Stella
Thanks Stella
I am going to try find something else I can do in doors. Don’t know what yet though but there will be something I can focus on .
Thanks
Joroni
