Hi everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for November. If you would like to catch up on October's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for: Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Thanks Patrick, you are quite right about perspectives. My oncologist is great and is a medical oncologist ( only do drugs not radiotherapy). He is really keen on giving me radiotherapy, however his colleagues ( Clinical oncologist) think I am not suitable and decided against his recommendations.
So this oncologist in London who does both things and is a leading figure in radiotherapy for GI cancer. I will ask him to review the case. I expect a no but at least I know there is no point keep talking about radiotherapy.
I am planning to come to Germany in early December! Craig and I will visit his friends and family there. They own a lovely hotel near berchtesgarden . Then we are going to Nuremberg for a couple nights to meet up another friend and visiting the Christmas market.
When are you thinking of going back to Thailand? Vietnam suppose to be lovely too. Very jealous!

We all make decisions and have to make decisions. Usually doing that closes some doors and opens up others. That will work for you too and I hope the doors open up to give you more leeway to manoevre in a way that helps you and Craig to move forward.

Hi FionaMac, welcome to this forum. It is definitely a hard diagnosis to come to terms with, I find that having this forum to share my thoughts and feelings helps me enormously. I have only been to Edinburgh once but found it to be beautiful and the castle is magnificent. Anyway welcome and hope to see you post x

Hi FionaMac , welcome to the group that no one wants to join but as a member myself I have made a lot of fine, caring and empathetic people that anyone would wish for.
What type of cancer have you, I checked but you have no profile filled in. I have myelodysplasia (MDS) which is an incurable bone marrow cancer and I was diagnosed in March 2015. I have 3 treatments a week, every week that are kinda keeping me on the right side of the line but over time there has been a slow decline.
There'll be others coming along to give you a warm welcome to the group. I'm looking forward to speaking with you in the future.

Hi Fiona, it's lovely to see you posting again, as it's been a while my friend, I'm sorry it's from a hospital bed, though I hope your care matches the views, which I'm guessing is the WGH, it must be nearly 10 months since your last post, which I remember as we were both told we had bone mets around the same time, it's not an easy road we travel, but the good people on the forum are here to help any way they can.

Morning, yes Patrick scan time is quite stressful, I had mine 8 weeks ago and have oncology appointment on Wednesday. Here is something to make everyone smile. Yesterday my husband Jon looked on the calendar, it was our 31st wedding anniversary, who knew. Since I stopped working I don't even know what day it is never mind the date. Anyway I told him that every day he is married to me is a celebration.
