Sensitive subjects / the room

I have noticed in one of the recent posts, mention of a more safe space to discuss the more sensitive subjects that we will all face at some point, like end of life. Here in the incurables we can talk about all that affects us with our disease, from treatment, emotions, fear and anger. We do have a dedicated space called “the room” that not everyone may be aware of. Here is a space away from the main group, where you can to discuss the more sensitive subjects life end of life care, or just have a good old rant and slam the door on the way out, with no judgement. Hence the group name the room.

If you go to the top of the page and click on the incurable  living with cancer title, it will take you to the main page where you will see all of the sub groups in our group.

  • Hi Chelle

    Thanks for this post.

I'm not at all sure I agree though that The Room is an appropriate place for those choosing to stop treatment to post their thoughts. The Room has negative connotations, a place to rant and express negative feelings. It wasn't intended as a place for ongoing discussions.

I don't feel negative about my decision to stop treatment. It has given me freedom, if anything, and I am enjoying my life. Personally, I think there should be a separate forum for those choosing to stop treatment, or even not to have treatment. I would like to have a space to discuss issues, away from those who are undergoing treatment. I wouldn't want to post these in The Room.

I have had this discussion in the past with the Forum administrators, and got nowhere.

    Thank you for your suggestions!
