Hi everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for October. If you would like to catch up on September's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for: Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Hi Lucy, so sorry to hear about your mum passing. Dementia is a horrible disease, we've had some family members, including 2 centenarians who have had it and it's awful for those who are close family members to help and care for them. In some ways it was a massive relief when they passed. Thinking about you Lucy

No Lee, it's completely understandable. Most of the time I have low neutrophils because of my incurable bone marrow cancer and my haemotologist has advised me to stay away from crowds and people with colds and flu. Some I hugged but others were aware of my situation and didn't come close. I have to self inject a medication called Investim twice a week to raise my neutrophils and it helps my levels. Do you get anything to help your neutrophil levels?
Take care Lee

Hi everyone, I'm leaving the site for a while. This morning I took Mrs Tvman to Lagan Valley Hospital for a colonoscopy and it was completely clear, not even a polyp! So currently she has NED.
On Tuesday I have to take her to the Ulster Hospital for her hip replacement surgery so she'll need some TLC for a while. Don't know who I'll get for that lol!! Aw well, I'm sure I'll do better than anyone else of course so I'll be extremely busy caring for her.
In the immortal words, I'll Be Back! Love you all ️

Excellent news re MrsT recent result, long may it continue!
Hope her hip replacement goes smoothly and will be up and about in no time.
Talk to you soon. X
Evening Lee, I did the same as you for a bit and didn’t get close to anyone due to low neutrophils. I stopped that after a few week as I missed it too much. Of course everyone has their own boundaries and rules. You are not weird, you are just you . Love

I had that just before last Christmas when we usually play host for the family dinner on Christmas day. I had also been avoiding people for fear of infection. We decided to go ahead anyway with the polite request for anyone with a cold not to come. It worked out well with two family members missing. It's normal self-protection!
