Good for you Ellie you have to stand up for yourself. I spent yesterday in hospital. My temperature was 38.1 and have cough and cold symptoms. Had IV antibiotics. Looks like respiratory infection. Sent me home last night with oral antibiotics. Temperature this morning is 38 not sure what to do. Maybe just try paracetamol to bring it down. Hope everyone has a good day. We are supposed to go to Portugal next Saturday, hoping to be better by then .

Sorry I have only just seen this Leelaloo I hope you are feeling better now, and the paracetamol has helped. If the temperature continues into the evening then please call 111 for advice. X
I'm sorry to hear this my friend, and don't be too concerned as a 38.1C temperature is considered a low grade fever, and your Dr will have taken everything into account and it's unlikely they would have sent you home, if they didn't think home was a safe place to be, as the guys say paracetamol and monitoring and lots of rest while your body fights the infection, and remember its normal for most people's temperature to rise a little through the day, so compare readings by what time there taken.

Hi Leelaloo sorry you have a temperature and have to go to the hospital. If they have done the blood test and discharged you with oral antibiotics, then it is probably not too bad. I had this happen to me twice. First time, the temperature was 39.5C and my neutrophil level was below 1.0. I was in hospital for 3 days. I had IV antibiotics and paracetamol to bring the temperature down. 2nd time my neutrophil level was above 2 so was discharged on the day with oral antibiotics. I took paracetamols daily until it was not required.
Hope yours is under control. But if you are feeling worse and temperature is not controlled, you should call the emergency oncology line.
Take care x

So sorry you have been feeling poorly. Hope they will help you at the hospital today. Take care and sending you lots of hugs.
