The chit chat thread is for: Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!

  • Hi Lee 2, I'm in Germany and things seem to be different here. I have a year-round health travel insurance which I pay around 20 Euros for. They said I would be insured as before provided the doctor approved the trip. So I'll wait and see. I mean you are more likely to need the insurance for non-cancer-related events like falling downstairs or getting in a crash anyway. When are you going?

  • Happy birthday Annette, hope you had a wonderful day. Knowing your family, I'm sure they'll have spoiled you rotten as you're so kind to them all.

I'm in Legoland with Carol, Nicole, Ben Harry and Lucy. Carol and I travelled down from the Liverpool/Birkenhead overnight ferry, stayed overnight on Thursday, met Nicole etc on Friday night stayed overnight with everyone and then made our way to Legoland this morning and we're all sooo tired tonight having spent all day in Legoland.

We're staying with Nicole etc for a week so I'll not be on site much, back Tuesday night of the following week.

    Love life and family.
  • Hi

I am at the tail end of my holiday now. Just spend the last few days in Johannesburg, mainly resting and relaxing here.

Had marvellous time in Zambia. Very close to nature and relaxing. My body flared up a bit for a couple of times.  Nothing major and I was sensible for a change and immediately went to rest mode and was OK again.

At one Safari camp , I saw elephants and hippo walking right by me. There were also 10 lions roamed by but I only heard them roaring by.

    Hope everyone is keeping well.

  • Hi Tvman, I’m sure you all enjoyed Legoland it is great for adults and children. Why should the children have ALL the fun!!

Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes we all had a superb day! I got lots of lovely gifts including gift vouchers, money, flowers, my granddaughter (13)  made me a cushion in High School, Home Economics class, my youngest grandchild (10) made me a PowerPoint Presentation with photos of my last 5 birthdays, she even added music! One of my favourite songs “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. My grandson made me Coconut Ice, delicious! All 3 handmade my cards! My daughter made my cake, my son bought me 12 yellow Roses my favourites! If they’d given me £1million I wouldn’t have been any happier!  I am so very lucky!

  • Good morning.  Glad you had a lovely birthday Annette, your children and grandchildren spoilt you with homemade gifts which are so thoughtful.   Your photos look lovely Stella, definitely happy memories.  Tvman would you recommend Legoland, I do not have children but wondered if it was good just for adults to go.  Patrick we are hoping to go on 6 September but I haven't booked it yet I am scared something will go wrong.  We are going to Praia da Luz.  Are you going to Thailand for a month?  It is difficult to go away when you have four dogs as the housesitters have to be booked nearly a year in advance and we all know with cancer that is not possible.  Hope you have a good day Ellie and Lucy.  I hope everyone has a good day.  It is a BBQ for us today as lovely sunny weather.

  • What a lovely experience, and a lovely memory to look back on.

  • Sorry me again.  Has anyone been to Tavira in Portugal?  And also has anyone heard or used a grounding mat?

  • Hi

I am still in J’burgh. Not doing much as not able to walk outside even in day light. It is very odd as there is hardly anyone walking outside at all. One has to drive everywhere. The hotel is very nice and directly connected to a massive shopping mall.
Patrick: the pride of lions we met already had a big meal beforehand. I will be just a snack for them. The guide said they probably had buffalo or hippo as all 10 lions / lionesses are very full.

I will be using this photo again on a hot day Joy

Ellie how are you getting on? Is your memory getting better?
    Lucy any more holiday plans?

Lee 2 Portugal sounds great for September. I have only been to Lisbon and Porto. Lovely food and wine!
    Annett : happy birthday!

Tvman hope you , Mrs and rest of the family having a great time.
    Eddie: how are you doing?
