Good morning, thought it might be fun to have a chat for bookworms. Recommend a book/books, ask for suggestions for a specific topic or post whatever you like regarding books and reading

  • Hi All

Like some of you, I too have electic taste, but primarily like to read Fantasy, science fiction and the occasional romance, if I can't find a good book.

I haven't read in awhile but I've just started to re-read 'The rise of the Iliri' by A. H. Hadley.

  • Hi Sledge, it's been a while my friend, I don't recall reading anything by Hadley, but I often read my favourite books more than once, and I believe your read is part of a trilogy, enjoy.

  • Hi Gilpat

I saw the Salt Path film yesterday, as planned.

For once, it is a good interpretation of the book, and well worth a trip to the cinema! The visuals are stunning.

    Hope you enjoy the read!

  • Hi Kate and thanks for the feedback. Trouble with me is that part of the enjoyment of a book is my own evolving interpretation of the characters etc. The films define them and I'm trapped in a mold - always been like that which us why I was never a movie goer. I will give it a go though after the read. Too hot here at the moment to do anything that requires more than half a brain. Have a lovely weekend.

  • Morning Patrick, you are so right. I have the same issue with Book to Film. My images of the characters are mostly very different from the actors who are portraying them. Hope you and Mrs Patrick enjoy a nice day. Love from

  • I just read about the accusations against Raynor Winn, what a shame if true, glad I read the book when I did

  • I can't understand how this was kept quiet for so long, if it is true. It's 7 years since the book came out. i do hope it all turns out to be a storm in a teacup!

  • Yes, I watched the report about the accusations. Hope they're not true but they seemed convincing. Woe betide whoever's fibbing
