I spend a lot of time indoors, in front of the tv. I am a bit of a soap addict, with Eastenders being my favourite. But I am always looking for new things to watch, so thought I would start a thread to see what you have been watching, any good recommendations that might interest anyone.

as a fan of westerns, I really enjoyed Abandons. I am also watching Marshalls on Paramount, which is a sequel to Yellowstone.

  • Hi Chelle I will continue with Abandons then.  Jon my husband told me about the sequel to Yellowstone but didn't know what it was called.  Is it on Netflix and is it good.  I loved Yellowstone.

  • No it’s on paramount +. There’s another series on there I want to watch as well called the Madison. Although not connected to Yellowstone it is also set in Montana.

  • Oh dear we haven't got paramount we cancelled it.  Maybe have to get it again.  Will have to put the Madison on the list as well.

  • I read good reviews on Madison, it is by the same producer as Yellowstone.

  • Hi there. I'm pretty chairbound at the moment.

Not a soaps fan, I'm afraid.

Bar my old - very old - and somehow reassuring background daytime favourites (Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder!) I've been watching Gone and the new and last two series of Capture on the iplayer (or whatever channels they're on), plus Death in Paradise, Grantchester and Midsommer Murders.

The other Bennet Sister is also good drama.

The Hunting Wives (?) and the Grosse Pointe Garden Society were also interesting, in a US posh people way, as was Revenge.

And reading a lot of old spy thriller books.

  • Thank you for all the good watching tips Ursula.  Sometimes the oldies are the best.  We are now watching Southland.

  • I have been watching escape to the country this week. New episode every day in bbc1 at 3pm, you get to see beautiful parts of the country, and get a good nose at some of the gorgeous properties.

  • Mrs Tvman and I watch Escape to the country almost every day even though we live in the countryside. Some properties are absolutely amazing and some are boasting wonderful views. We sometimes look at each other in disbelief as what is described as having a great view doesn't come anywhere near what we have. The properties look nice though. I wouldn't be interested in a project myself but some retired people welcome it. I'm retired and not a bit interested in working every day, except growing fruit, veg and flowers with no pressure.

    Love life and family.
  • I guess its a personal choice on what you consider the perfect view. I would much prefer to look out of my window to a sea view every day, than open fields. In a dream world i'd live on a cruise ship and have a different view every day.
