I spend a lot of time indoors, in front of the tv. I am a bit of a soap addict, with Eastenders being my favourite. But I am always looking for new things to watch, so thought I would start a thread to see what you have been watching, any good recommendations that might interest anyone.

  • Hi Chelle, I’ve been watching the first series of Annika before going onto the second series as you suggested. I’m enjoying it. I’m surprised that her talking to the camera didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. Thanks for recommending it. I will let you know when I’m almost finished the 2nd series!

  • Thanks Chelle, I am looking forward to it once I’ve finished the first series, only 2 episodes to go!

Who else thinks the actor who was in Taggart looks Very old all of a sudden! The lady pathologist is great and I loved her in Call the Midwife too!

  • We have just watched Hostage on Netflix. We have some amazing British actors, and Suranne Jones was incredible in this 5 part drama series where she plays the British prime minister. The drama is very close to the nerve I think, with the country being in a dire state and the NHS falling apart, with people unable to get life threatening medication. Whilst the prime minister is trying to do a deal with France to get the much needed medication that is needed, her husband is abducted. Lots of twists and turns, but a situation that could be not too far from the truth.

  • Morning Chelle, I wouldn't be keen on the life threatening medicine lol, my partner Sheila is watching this series and between the other things I do have seen quite a bit of the show, which I enjoyed, will make more of an effort to watch the last couple of episodes.

  • Hi  I’ve always loved my tv, and I’m lucky that my other half likes the same programmes as I do. We are both big soap addicts, we never miss an episode! Eastenders is our favourite. I used to read a lot, but I can’t concentrate on books at the moment so tv is my companion whilst my partner is at work. As well as Alfie of course! He keeps me entertained x

  • I still love reading Chelle, but when you can't remember most of what you read, what's the point. I stick to studying and when I find anything interesting  I make a note so most of it sticks or I can easily reference it which jogs my memoryThinking, Awww how is little Alfie, is he wanting to chase everything?, I hope all's well at your end my friend.

  • Hi Chelle, I’ve now finished watching the first series of Annika and about to watch SERIES 2 Episode 1.

We don’t get Netflix because to be honest we don’t really have the tv on much at all. I have watched Annika on my iPad in bed instead of spending a long time on my jigsaws, I’ve split it with BBC iPlayer! Thanks again!

  • That’s my problem   I can’t remember what I’ve read. It’s so frustrating! Sorry I have only replied now, I have had a couple of tough days with a tooth I cracked on the weekend. I was due to have a root canal on it next week, but it decided to snap at the weekend. Managed to get in on Tuesday when I had it removed after lots of discussion because I am on denosumab and any tooth extraction can cause jaw necrosis. Woke Thursday morning in terrible pain, so went back yesterday where the socket was cleaned and I now have antibiotics.
Alfie is a handful. He is so good on so many things, but he’s a scavenger in the garden and on his walks. He kept eating acorns, and as we are surrounded by woods there are lots of acorns here! He is good all day long, until about 4pm which we call the witching hour! He is definitely much more of a challenge than Bella ever was.
