On August 29 2024 I was told I had throat cancer, 10 days later I had a scan and biopsy, scan showed a second primary cancer in the lung. Couldn't get through the neck to do a lung biopsy so put in a tracheostoma to help me breathe too.
Fast tracked to radiotherapy and concurrent chemotherapy for the throat, bought my first walking stick just before Christmas.
Couldn't eat or drink apart from sips of water and at risk of infection, still said family could come, helped granddaughter unpack her presents, best Christmas for ages. Gradually regained strength, put on weight, left walking stick waiting for a rainy day and started longish walks.
Today...
.. attacked foundation of former oven with sledgehammer, worked up an appetite and am now bloody hungry and going for a Chinese and a few beers.
It's worth fighting! I wish you all a lovely evening.
