Nobody's perfect my friend, we all have our blind spots, and i will happily slide down the ice or snow on my backside, so I don't fall, and I'm not bothered who see's me, I know it's very steep that slope, I drove 100s of miles that day, and the only place I got stuck in the snow was your driveway, but I'm glad you never hurt anything, well maybe your dignity, Quiet day for me, saw some friends at the allotment, and was invited to lunch by one of them, she' a veggie, so took me to a veggie bistro that does simple but fab food, and next week we're going to a new, to us, 5 star Indian place, the snows long gone here, the evenings are a little longer every day and the weeds are growing, springs coming.

Great they have power back. I’m afraid I spoke too soon about having no damage from the storm. This morning the way to the car, I passed part of our garage roof lying on the grass. As we have a corner plot, the garage is round the side, so can’t be seen from the front window! It could have been worse, so counting our blessings!

Hi Chelle, That is indeed good news. There are thousands of people here without electricity, thankfully, our area is ok! It must be terrible for those who have no water or electricity therefore no heating! My heart goes out to them all!

Hi all I have been following the posts re storm etc. I’m so sorry for those who have experienced some damage and the worry of loss of power , we depend so much on electricity these days . We have a farm we don’t have gas and our water is from a borehole where the water is pumped up . We also have oil central heating , if we have a power cut we have no heating ( apart from a wood burner ) no water so no flushing toilet etc. my heart goes out to all those affected. We got off really lightly here in south wales windy not much rain and yesterday was a beautiful but cold day. We went to see the sea it was still quite rough but watching the waves and listening to the sea is something I enjoy.i hope today finds you as good as you can be and you enjoy your day . We are going out for Sunday lunch with my oldest son dil and grandson we are being joined by my daughter in laws parents they are lovely people so it will be good to catch up.
tomorrow is a consultant appointment for me hopefully a non event ( I can only hope) . Good luck to all those who have appointments treatments etc. keep the chat going I might not contribute much but enjoy following . Chris x
Hi Chris, I hope you and your family are as well as can be, we were lucky to miss the worst of the storm here in Yorkshire, lots of wandering wheelie bins and a few trees down, but nobody hurt thankfully.
So you love the coast too, as do I, and a few others on the forum as well, though it's the beaches I enjoy, everything seems a little better by the sea, a good place forget about your troubles, if only for a moment, and I used to go to South Wales quite often to see family in Llantwit Major, a beautiful area, before she moved to Dorset.
My youngest daughter is a farmer, and they have to be self sufficient regarding utilities, and with 6 kids, heat and hot water are vital, and it's where the family meets up most Sundays for dinner, my favourite time of the week,
My best wishes for your appointment tomorrow, and hope you have a wonderful time, and dinner, with family today.

Morning Every One
What a change in a day, yesterday was lovely, does lift your spirits thats for sure.
Today grey wet and miserable.
I have been busy this morning quiet a few little jobs, catch up time.
Glad you all survived the storm, more so for people up North.
Hope you all have a pleasant day.
Hope you had a cosy day indoors Ulls. As I couldn't visit my friend in the Care Home on Friday because of the storm, I went today instead.
When I went to go into my car, there was snow on the windows and looking to the hills, there was quite a lot there too. Then I noticed a couple of marks on the offside of my car and realised when the garage roof came off, it must have scraped along my car on the way to landing in the garden. I will have had it one week tomorrow! Typical!
It was a horrible wet and windy day, I was so glad to get home!
