This is worth a watch  https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0024bwg/my-brain-tumour-and-me

Telling it how it is.

BBC political editor Glenn Campbell felt he’d had a lucky escape in 2023 when he fell off his bike, breaking ten ribs. Just six weeks later, he was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer.

Search iplayer for "Glenn Campbell"  to find it.

  • Hi, When I saw the title of this I thought it was going to be a music video of Glen Campbell the singer!!

Then when I clicked the link I was surprised it was a different GC. As it is too late to watch it now and it is on the BBCi Player,, I have downloaded it to watch it at a better time. Once I have watched it, I will let you know what I think!

How are you doing, it has been a while since I have seen your post, or did I just miss them?

    Love Annette x

  • I've been reading more than posting!  Big day on Sunday - three years on, so I'll add to my blog then.

  • I hope you are going to have a wee celebration!

  • Hi

Thanks for this. I watched it last night. What were your thoughts on it?

I felt he was trying to cling to his previous fitness and working life instead of recognising where he was at now. But looking back, I was probably the same. It took a long time to realise that my body is not capable of my old life.

  • Hi sistermoon

Wow it’s like you read my mind !! I too felt exactly the same when I watched it too and just like you I felt I could still do everything I could do pre cancer ! I still think I haven’t quite realised that I can’t lolll but reality is slowly dawning on me and I’m accepting of it x x

  • Hi  I really liked it because he was so down-to-earth and pragmatic and spoke about his cancer like only a person-with-cancer can!   Quite moving and it struck a chord with me.  Perhaps because it reminded me of my own experiences.

I didn't notice the things you mention at all!  That's just me, perhaps.
