Just a quick question I have finished chemo for richters syndrome and have been taking probiotics every morning for three days thought it might help my gut . I have read that probiotics are not good with lymphoma anybody know anything about this Thankyou x Chris
Hi Chris, to be honest, I don't know much about Lymphoma, the best people to ask are your GP, oncologist or specialised nurse. However I was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma and while on a Drug Trial I had problems with my stomach and anti sickness meds didn't help. My Oncologist suggested I try Actimel or any probiotic. I have been taking it ever since once a day. I developed Lymphoedema after a groin dissection and asked the Specialist Nurse if anything I was taking would make it worse. I gave her a list of my meds and told her I also took Actimel she assured me nothing I was taking could make it better or worse.
I think it is better to be safe than sorry, so I would ask a professional if I was you!
Love Annette x
Just a quick update .i have been told by another member of the Haemotology dept that it is safe to take probiotics having been told not to take them . I am so confused and having read the thread about hospital care or lack of it I feel frightened about what’s ahead . I too had a very bad experience in hospital at the beginning of the year and have informed family that I don’t want to be admitted I have a health directive and d n r in place . I think I will now contact my Gp and see what his take is. Best wishes to you all . Chris x
