  • Morning everyone!

It looks like it's going to be a reasonable day here, weather-wise. I'm having a break from gardening today, as my wrist is aching from using the secateurs yesterday! Instead it will be a 'me' day, or an 'us' day, taking Candy for a long walk then just general pottering about.

Ellie, you do seem to have accidents when you are changing your beds! Have you considered wearing armour to protect yourself?? Blood thinners are such a nuisance.

Hope you have a nice day planned.

    XXX Kate

  • I have considered  lots   of things, best one i came up with, do not change the beds for a year.

Yes have a me day, we all need them some times, looks like going to be nice again here.

    Enjoy your walk

Was 28 yesterday, was to warm for me, but never mind, make the most of it.

Nice to just get out, clear the mind, and forget about everything, for a while.

  • Hope you had a brilliant time in Wales. I was in mid wales last October. Such beautiful place and much underrated part of the country. Also Wales has the best road, no pot holes.

  • Thank you. Only went to dog racing once before and it was fun. Congratulations to your MIL.

  • Thank you, hope your scan etc goes smoothly for you next Friday,

  • Good day everyone one

Thank you for your kind messages. I was in London yesterday and had delicious Mexican food with my husband.

I have got consultations coming up next week. Monday I will be seeing my local consultant in Cambridge and Friday I will be seeing a consultant in Royal Marsden for a second opinion. Not sure what difference this is going to make but feel have to have a last ditch effort.

I think I am OK with acceptance of my situation but feel like surrendering. Any tips on keep going/ dare to hope?

    Have a good day x

  • Hi Stella, glad your trip to London was enjoyable. All we really have is faith and hope. I put my faith in my oncologist and my  cancer nurses , I've found them supportive and keeping me going on this journey of ours. As for hope you always have hope, you hope treatment will do its Job, uou hope family can cope with your diagnosis, you hope you don't get bad side effects from Treatment. I now one day this illness will win, but I hope it takes a long time and  I continues to stuff all I can into the time I have left. In October I'll have been on this journey for 5 years. At first I was told 12 to 18 months. So I hope your treatment gives you  a longer period than expected. Annette is 8 years and counting.  Take care lovely, keep active and eat a good diet it does help. XX

  • Moring glad you got out yesterday, London, and the weather was good to you.

Hope is a powerful word, I do hang on to that. The answer is, when I was first diagnosed,

one question i asked my oncologist Give me Hope, she replied there is always hope.

The only treatment that was available to me was chemo which i went for, the first one, caused a heart attack, and was stopped, though i went on another, and everything was good.

Then ten months later, oncologist appointment and my Oncologist said, a new treatment has come out and been agreed by nice for lung cancer patients, and then looked at me and said I Told you Always Hope, have never forgotten that.

So I have carried on, and along the way have had quiet a few problems, but still go forward.

As the saying goes, Tomorrow is not promised to any one.

So I do a day at a time, i am here today, though others are not, thats y only take on the situation.

I am in London at times as well, another Hospital i am under, its a day out as we say.

You will get there, i have had no treatment since June 2021, i was diagnosed March 2016.

    You can do this.

  • Good morning Ellie, how's the arm,  ask your son to change the bed for you in future.lol.
