Morning, you should try the Art Cafe Bistro for lunch and if possible go on a midnight sun cruise. They last around 4 hours and takes you through the Fjords. There are different ones to choose from. If you have a car do a drive to Kvaloya Island. It is supposed to be stunning. There is also a nice little Fishing Village called Sonmaroy near Tromsø. The chocolate is called Freia’s Melkesjokolade.
i don’t do ski jumping myself, I just watch it. My Dad was into Biathlon and ski sports and took me with him from no age to watch it, so it has been a long standing love affair. He said if you stay at a hotel they will be able to match you with the best suitable boat trip and drives. May I ask if your travel insurance was very expensive? My daughters were going to take me for a trip to a Horse Ranch in Canada but the insurance was insane so we didn’t go.

Morning Alana, thank you so much for the information, we were looking at mini cruises and a midnight sun one does sound good and will be hiring a car and will look into all your fab suggestions, might try to make it 4 nights. I wish I could help with travel insurance but I get mine free through my bank, I have heard Insurancewith.com is good, You could call Macmillan there was a thread called HOLIDAYS about a month ago which might help, or why not start another one and if your on other forums ask on them. I will ask on the prostate forum for you. I used to watch Ski Sunday years ago and you wouldn't get me doing it either.

Alana I have been to Speyside many times, don't drink but have done the malt whisky trail and had many walks in the cairngorms, my first partner and i went to Nairn every year to see her older sister who I met the day I was born and I always saw her as the big sister I never had. Sadly we lost her 2 year ago. I was born in Oban and still have family in Fort William, which we are visiting next month and as it's "only" 2 hours to Speyside maybe I will visit again, take care.
