Facial? Maybe not!

So my skin is dry and horrid, blotchy and spotty. Thank you treatment Slight smile so thought I would treat myself to a facial.

i sent a message to my local beauty parlour and got this response:

Hi I would advise you to consult your GP or specialist if they’re happy for you to have a treatment and can provide a doctors note of approval then we can look into which you may like. As we use aromatherapy and drainage movements within a facial we must have a doctors note to allow it.

Has anyone had a facial lately ;)

Did you get a doctors note!

  • I have had this kind of a response when enquiring about acupuncture and also massage so didn't bother. It's very disheartening to say the very least

  • It is. Sometimes you just fancy a little pick me up, very disheartening like you say x

  • Hi Bassy1969, Like Elliekate i have to answer 50 questions for a massage, but it's only once and takes 10 minutes, the place i go to is a cancer charity based at the hospital and all the staff are qualified to work with cancer patients and they also do beauty treatments and i am pretty sure anyone having a facial has not needed to fill in a form, and i think the first few treatments are free, maybe worth searching your local cancer charities, PS my cancer hospital has a charity that does beauty treatment and holistic's too, worth a look. best wishes.

  • That’s very helpful Eddie, will enquire x

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read of your experience. I think these places err on the side of caution but this is not helpful to us. It seems that they do not want to activate lymph nodes, which was the explanation I got anyway.

Your CNS may be able to advise you on how to access some treatments. The Macmillan helpline is also worth a try. This is the link to contact https://www.macmillan.org.uk/about-us/contact-us

Hope you can find something relaxing that will help your skin. Best regards.

    A x
