I thought I would start a general crafts thread. We can ask questions and share our projects. Works in progress and completed ones are welcome, with no pressure. If we digress sometimes, that's ok too.

I love your granny square. I want to be able to do these, I'll need to learn from YouTube and a book I've got. I can do double crochet but that's all.
I usually do cross stitch and basic knitting but have gotten back into embroidery in the last few weeks. I bought plain pillow cases and traced the pattern on. My husband drew the patterns for me. They're a bit basic but not bad for my first attempt in about 30 years.
Don't know if this is a 'craft' but did this last year for the patio. Found a cheap wrought iron coffee table off e-bay and then ordered tile samples on-line. You can get samples quite cheap. Had some Hammerite paint for the frame. The glass that had been the table top was broken, so found a slate circle - ebay again- and fixed it into the frame with silicone. Then tiled on top. Had a bit of adhesive and grout leftover from the bathroom and it did the job. I haven't got the strength to cut mosaics, but this didn't need that. Rather enjoyed it.
There are lots of wrought iron table/plant stands etc. going quite cheaply.
